Turnip Mash

Equipment

  • 1 Large Pot
  • 1 Stick blender

Ingredients

  • 5 large Turnips Peeled and cut into 1.5 cm cubes
  • 40 grams Cream cheese
  • 30 ml Sour Cream
  • 2 cloves Garlic peeled
  • 45 grams Butter
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Fresh Parsley - Flat-leaf to garnish

Instructions

  • Place the turnip and garlic in a large pot of cold water and bring to the boil.
  • Reduce to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes or until the turnips are tender.
  • Drain the turnips and garlic.
  • Add the cream cheese, sour cream and butter. Use a stick blender to puree until creamy and smooth
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Let sit for 5 minutes, then blend again for 1 minute.
  • Serve warm, garnished with parsley
